There is Power in Your Tongue

face-facial-expression-girl-925387.jpg

The words we speak out of our mouths are important.  So important that the Word of God tells us that our tongues have the power of life and death.  I challenge you today to only speak life and not death.  Don’t complain, murmur, criticize, lie, be sarcastic or speak in anger or haste.  Instead, as you mediate on those things that are pure, just, praise worthy, honest, noble and of a good report you will find the words out of your mouth following suit.  Out of the heart a man speaks.  Let us honor the Lord with our tongues today and use them for good and not evil.  The Holy Spirit will guide you if this is your true desire.

How's Your Love Life?

abstract-art-color-887349.jpg

How is your love life?  Do you love only the loveable?  We are commanded to love everyone, even our enemies.  This is not a mushy, wishy-washy love.  It is not the “I love you only if you love me back” love.  Rather, it is love that shows great strength of character.  It’s kindness in action.  It’s the love God pours out upon us each day.  It’s unconditional love.  Agape love.  How’s your love life?  Are you loving the 1 Corinthians 13 love?  Let us evaluate our love life today and allow the Holy Spirit to show us how we can better reflect Christ in living a life of love.

1 Cor. 13:1-13Matt. 5:43-48

Shout for Joy

clouds-energy-exercise-965161.jpg

God has blessed us already with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ.  Let’s deeply embrace that “already blessing.”  The Lord has sent out the commanded blessing concerning our lives.  It’s a blessing that will not, cannot be rescinded.  Take God at His Word.  If you are a believer – you are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath.  You are blessed when you come and when you go.  You are blessed in the city and in the field.  Whatever you put your hand to do is blessed.  Shout for joy, be strengthened and walk in your blessing of peace.  Reach out to someone today who may need encouragement.  Share your blessing.

Follow Jesus

alone-black-and-white-cool-wallpaper-764880.jpg

God will never give us more than we can handle.  Often times we feel overwhelmed because we have not turned over the issues of  life to the Lord Jesus.  Is He Lord of your life?  Then release control.  Two kings can’t sit on the throne at the same time.  Allow the Lord to lead, then just follow Him.  Do what He says do, go where He says go, speak what  He says speak.  When you do, you will find you are no longer feeling overwhelmed, rather you will be walking in perfect peace knowing your Lord is guiding and directing you on this journey of life.  God has only good in store for you.  Let Jesus be Lord today and discover  peace.

Come up Higher

adventure-clouds-colorful-413788 (1).jpg

This is a great time in your life!  You may not think so because of the trials and tribulations you have gone through and/or are still in, but come up higher and see from God’s perspective.  You are being qualified to transition from the pit to the palace.  Just as a graduate must pass tests to go to a higher level, so it is in the spirit realm.  Don’t be afraid of tests.  God brags on you and considers you worthy to stand the trial.  Have you considered my servant _____.”   Put your name in the blank.  We know the outcome of Job.  God was glorified and Job received double for his trouble.  Fight off discouragement.  God is good.  He is with you.  He will never give you more than you can bear.  Keep trusting.

Job. 42:1-17; 1 Peter 4:12-13

Be Still and Know God

background-calm-clouds-747964.jpg

God wants us to be still and discover He is God.  He is the sovereign God.  Lord of all.  He rules, He reigns, He’s in charge.  So be still from worry, anxiety, fear and anger.  Let Him rule in your life over every situation.  Over the ills, over that relationship, over that boss, that employee, over that business, over your finances, over that decision.  Quiet your spirit – worry not fret not.  God’s got this! Have an awesome day in the Lord.

  Ps. 37:1-40

Surrender to God

back-view-backlit-city-847483.jpg

Surrender is not a dirty word for a believer.  God requires us to surrender to Him.  When we truly know God and His unchanging character, we will have no problem surrendering to Him; Giving over our lives to Him – withholding nothing.  We are surrendering to a good God.  We are surrendering to a Holy God.  We are surrendering to a God whose love for us has no limits, no boundaries.  So let’s turn over our cares and burdens to Him and trust Him to perfect everything that concerns us.

  Eph. 3:14-21

Speak Life

adult-afro-blazer-1056556.jpg

We serve an amazing God!  Whatever your situation, no matter what the  issue or how dark it may seem, rest assured:  God’s got this.  He can turn any negative situation around in a moment.  All He has to do is to speak the Word.  What’s even more amazing – He’s allowing us to speak the Word over our situations as well.  We shall have whatever we speak.  So speak life!  Trust God.  He is working behind the scenes to perfect  everything that concerns you.  Expect answers to prayers, expect miracles, expect the supernatural intervention of God in all your situations.  Our God is awesome, our God is amazing . Our God is God.

Isa 50:7-10

Trust God to Fix It

adult-alone-backlit-268833.jpg

Let’s constantly and consistently give the issues and burdens in our lives to the Lord.  Trust Him to carry us and them on His shoulders.  His shoulders are bigger than ours.  And let’ s not carry the burdens of worry, doubt, fear, anxiety and unforgiveness.  We were never meant to carry these loads so release them to the Lord.  Walk each day with a light heart knowing God is perfecting everything that concerns us.  Trust Him to fix it.

Matt. 11:28-30

Feed Your Faith

bed-bible-book-bindings-935944 (1).jpg

We are feeding our faith when we pray, when we fast, when we read the Word and seek God’s direction for every area of our lives.  God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power , love and a sound mind.  We feed our faith when we keep our eyes stayed on Him.  There is no need to be afraid, the Holy One is with us.  Keep trusting.  God loves you.  Everything’s gonna be okay.

Romans 10:17

We Serve a Big God

beautiful-clouds-dawn-51373.jpg

Let’s remember we serve a BIG GOD.  That is, He is Almighty, all powerful, all knowing and His love for us is unconditional.  Give Him every emotion of hurt, pain, frustration and disappointment.  He is not surprised by our feelings.  He cares that we come to Him in prayer and receive comfort from Him.  Trust Him to perfect everything that concerns you.  Don’t look at the biggest of your problem,  look at the BIGGEST of your God.  Keep the faith.

Isa. 45:18-25

The Lord is our Lighthouse

black-and-white-building-dark-722664.jpg

The Lord God is our Lighthouse on the journey called life.  Keep your eyes on Him and He will make sure you get safely to the land of your promise.  We keep our eyes on Him by praying, seeking His Face, reading His Word.  We keep our eyes on Him by expressing our gratitude for all He has already done and for what he is about to do.  We keep our eyes on Him by worshiping Him for who He is! He is our Light  in the darkness.  We will not fear.

  Ps. 27; Matt. 4:16

Lose the Weight

black-bumper-plates-dirty-161557.jpg

No one wants extra weight. Much money is spent in our society to eliminate extra weight. But the weight that really matters the most is the weight of sin. Sin is anything we do to displease our loving Heavenly Father. Sin drags us down, slow us up and trips us up. That’s why it’s so important to confront sin in our lives, confess it as sin, repent and ask for God’s forgiveness. His forgiveness is there. Freely given since the Cross. All we need do is receive. Once free from sin and the guilt it brings we are free to live authentic Christian lives. Not walking in condemnation, but walking in right standing with God. And we become more effective in ministering the Truth of the Gospel. So get rid of your weight today and keep it off. He whom the Son has set free is free indeed. Have an awesome day.

Just Breathe

adult-air-beautiful-321576.jpg

Every breath we take is important. There are basically two parts to breathing: exhaling and inhaling. When we exhale we expel CO2 (carbon dioxide) which is bad for the body. When we inhale, we take in O2 (oxygen) that is good for the body and which the body absolutely cannot live without. As it is in the natural so it is in the spirit. We must learn how to “spiritually breathe.” To spiritually breathe we must exhale doubt, fear, worry, anxiety. Expel the bad stuff. Then we must inhale the promises of God and His faithfulness. The good stuff and that which we cannot live without. I encourage you today to practice exhaling and inhaling- spiritually breathe. Breathe in the love God has for you. Breathe in the promises in His Word. Promises of peace, joy, hope and a future. Take a deep breath and enjoy  your day.

God's Plan is Good

arts-build-close-up-273230.jpg

God is never taken by surprise concerning the situations we face.  If He allows it, there is a plan that it will work for our good.  Our job is to trust Him and to keep our eyes on Him, not the situation.  We don’t have to see the way to know that there is one.  He is the Way and the Way Maker.  Trust Him each day as He leads, guides and provides.  We must persevere.  We must persist without exception.  Stand in this hour and having done all – stand.  God is about to release His favor like you have never seen before.  Don’t quit before your miracle!

Heal Wounded Hearts

autumn-heart-leaf-39379.jpg

Jesus reminds us that we are to forgive because we have been forgiven.  As we draw close to the Lord we know we can not hear clearly from Him with unforgiveness in our hearts.  I challenge you today to forgive anyone who has wronged you and also to ask for forgiveness from anyone you have wronged.  Sometimes the hardest words to say are “I’m sorry,” but they have power to mend relationships and heal wounded hearts.  Let’s be grateful God forgave us and let us walk in forgiveness.  Remember to forgive yourself as well.  God’s not angry with you.  He so loved us He sent Jesus to be the atonement for our sin.

  Matt. 6:9-15; Ps. 103:12

Be The Light

forest-landscape-leafs-11435.jpg

We are called to be the light.  So shine today.  Be someone’s light.  Show them the Way .  Point them to Jesus.  Don’t be afraid as the world gets darker because our light shines brightest in the dark.  Continue to let Jesus shine through you in all you do in thought, word and deed.  Someone will see your light and the Father will be glorified.  Shine on.

Matt. 5:16; John 1:1-13; John 3:17-21

Soar Like an Eagle

animal-bald-eagle-bird-53587.jpg

Continue to trust in God.  He is the One who lifts you up on eagle wings and causes you to soar high above every problem and issue of life.  You have the victory already!  Speak it out of your mouth.  Rehearse it in your mind.  Mediate on it before you leave your bed in the morning.  Say:  I have the victory, I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus.  Now walk in it throughout the day.  Expect God to show up in your circumstances and turn around any evil for good.  He is God and God alone.

Our Good Shepherd

agriculture-clouds-country-462119.jpg

The Lord Jesus is our Shepherd and He cares for us, His sheep. He provides for us and meets our needs everyday. And because He is a Good Shepherd He anticipates our needs. He meets our needs often before we even ask Him. Did you ask Him to wake you up this morning? Did you ask Him to make sure you’re breathing, walking, talking and all your organs work? You probably didn’t, but He knew you needed these things and He provided. Did you ask Him for your car to start when you put the key in the ignition, or for your bus or train to be operating? Yet He provided. A Good Shepherds knows our needs and delights in providing. So if what you did ask for you’re not seeing as yet,  wait on Him. He’s in the process of providing just what you need, just when you need it. Trust Him that He knows. He got this. He will provide, He is providing. Our response is to thank and praise Him for each day’s provision. And don’t forget that when life’s road really gets rough, the Good Shepherd hoists us up on His shoulders and carries us through. He will never leave you or forsake you! Have a fantastic day.
